Juicy blackberries combine with sweet honey and grainy mustard to create this delectable dip. Careful – you might find yourself halfway through a bag of pretzels if you’re anything like me!

Blackberry honey mustard pretzel dip was inspired by one of my favorite products of all time – the raspberry honey mustard dip from a (sort of) local farm called Rothschild’s in the Mad River Valley area here in Ohio.
Look, I get it. You might be confused by the idea of mixing fruit with mustard. But once this ooey-gooey dip hits your tastebuds, you’ll never want to go back.
This recipe combines blackberries and honey with two types of mustards – dijon and whole grain (or “old style”, as some call it).

How to make this mustard dip
The first step is to add the blackberries to a pan and smash them up with a fork. Disclaimer: This can be a pretty messy job if you’re not exactly, shall we say…graceful. I highly recommend wearing an apron or at least throwing on an old shirt and pair of pants that you don’t mind getting messy before doing the smush bit.

Next, you’ll add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and give it all a good mix. Bring the heat up to medium on your stove and let everything simmer together.
When the sauce has bubbled to your satisfaction and has reached a deep purple-y color, remove the pan from the and allow the dip to cool to room temperature before serving.

Can you substitute spicy brown mustard for Dijon mustard?
You betcha! If you like a little extra kick to your honey mustard, the spicy brown variety is a great substitution. The texture of brown mustard is typically more coarse than your average Dijon, as it contains both whole mustard grains as well as partially ground grains.

What to serve with honey mustard dip
As you’ve probably noticed, I recommend serving your dip with your favorite pretzels.
You can also use this dip as a fruity dressing on your favorite summer salad. Imagine – crisp baby spinach topped with garden-fresh tomatoes, toasted almonds, tart goat cheese, and slivers of red onion all drizzled with the most decadent berry-flavored honey mustard. DIVINE.
If you want to get extra creative, consider serving as a condiment with baked chicken, pork loin, or sliced ham.

- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions

Notes
- For an added kick, substitute spicy brown mustard for the Dijon.
- Store in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
